Se è vero che l’ispirazione è arrivata dai jet F-22 e F-35 il risultato ottenuto da Chevrolet è un design caratterizzato da linee molto rigide, che non possono non fare pensare a Lamborghini, con alcuni cenni agli ultimi modelli Ferrari. Un paio di esempi su tutti: il cofano anteriore è appuntito come sanno fare a Sant’Agata Bolognese, i fari anteriori sanno molto di Maranello. Il risultato comunque è un frontale aggressivo, che intimorisce fin da subito.
Il cofano è più corto, il tetto è spiovente mentre la parte posteriore è stata allungata per gli spazi dovuti al motore. Coda massiccia, grazie alle luci led che fanno apparire il posteriore largo e basso. Si può vivere questa Chevrolet Corvette Stingray anche all’aperto, rimovendo l’hard top. Sui lati ci sono le aperture per il raffreddamento del motore.
All’interno regna invece l’impronta sportiva. Tutti i controlli sono a portata di mano mentre il volante tagliato nella parte superiore ed inferiore è stato disegnato per favorire l’impugnatura. Tecnologia avanti tutta: c’è un quadro strumenti digitale da 12″ con infotainment che può aggiornarsi over-the-air. Supporta l’nfc e la ricarica wireless per smartphone. C’è il Performance Data Recorder, la regolazione elettrica dei sedili ma soprattutto c’è un bell’impianto Bose a 10 altoparlanti ma anche il Bose Performance a 14 altoparlanti.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2020: il motore
Sotto al cofano c’è un V8 da 6,2 litri già usato sulla precedente Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. E’ stato aggiornato a livello di testata, che è nuova, l’albero è stato abbassato ed ci sono dimensioni maggiori per il sistema di lubrificazione. La potenza si assesta sui 497 CV, ovvero ben 31 in più rispetto a prima. Attenzione, perchè ordinando il pacchetto Z51 con scarico sportivo, pinze freno maggiorate, istema di raffreddamento migliorato e sospensioni regolabili, si arriva alla fatidica quota di 502 CV. Come le supersportive moderne vogliono, ora c’è anche un cambio doppia frizione a 8 marce con palette al volante.
L’accelerazione è fulminante: Chevrolet dichiara uno 0 a 100 km/h in meno di tre secondi per la Corvette stradale più veloce di sempre mentre non ci sono ancora numeri definitivi sulla velocità massima. Ciò che invece è certo è che la produzione inizierà entro la fine dell’anno e che il prezzo sarà attorno ai 60.000 dollari, che sono circa 53.000 euro.
